What have I been doing lately?

Most of my time is taken up with my fantastically exciting new Doodle Ads venture (which is really taking off) but I still manage some illustration work for my regular clients when I can. Here's what I've been doing lately...

Rude Comics...

A difference between newspapers and the web is what's deemed acceptable. The 'Warm Patch' comic above was allowed in newspapers but the 'Twinkle' one wasn't. Both are pretty tame INMHO. In fact I would say the 'Warm Patch' comic is ruder.

Holidays!

I'm off to sunny Italy! 5 days on the gorgeous island of Ischia and then 2 in Pompeii. Half a day back in the UK then it's 3 days in beautiful Bamberg in Southern Germany.

Week 1 on GoComics.com...

I love my comic being on GoComics.com. The comments Ollie and Quentin have been receiving are great and it's brilliant to see that people are actually reading my strip. Newspaper syndication was a dream of mine but it meant I received little feedback from readers. This online presence means I do, every day. I created a comic for readers to enjoy, I didn't do it to earn my fortune. With 2 million readers a day visiting GoComics I finally feel Ollie and Quentin is where it should be... in front of an enthusiastic audience and in glorious full colour. Hooray!

I'm at the Olympics!

I've been at the Olympic Park in London today watching the swimming! So exciting! Great atmosphere in an awesome park. It's HUGE! Could not fault the arenas, staff and transport. Just fantastic!

Bavaria

I've been walking in the beautiful Bavarian Mountains in Southern Germany for the last 4 days. I can't describe how beautiful it is so here are some pictures. Oh and I visited Salzburg today to see Mozart's home town. That's his birth place, second floor, beneath the writing.

Gorgeous BBC Olympics Animation Trailer

Gorgeous animation for the BBC Olympics coverage. I watched the Olympic Torch come to my home town of Guildford today and saw it leave on board 3 Sea King Helicopters on its way to London. The sun was out too! First time in weeks. Next time I see the flame I will be in the Olympic Stadium! So exciting!

Where the hell is Matt...

Like millions of others, I love these "Where the hell is Matt" videos. Always brings a lump to my throat. Wish I could dance!

Paddington Stan

Readers of this Blog will know my comic developed out of a strip I produced for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution charity here in the UK. The main character was Stormy Stan the Lifeboatman who unfortunately is the property of the RNLI and so had to be replaced with Nobby in my comic. My cousin Tim spotted Stan at Paddington Railway Station recently.
It also gives me the excuse to drop in a few old Stan comics for you to see.
