Sunday Strip in full

Not the greatest joke by a long way but it's always nice to do a speechless comic. Look out Lio!

Sunday Strip in full

I know my characters look nothing like the creatures they're supposed to be so this is really a little dig at myself for trying to convince readers that this comic isn't about a duck and a.. a... blob.

Thought you might be interested in seeing my rough with the photos I used as reference.

Think my artistic license should be revoked.

Where do you get your ideas? #997

This comes close to how I felt when my lovely 18 year old daughter came home with two tattoos last summer.

Teenage daughters eh? Sigh...

Right hand drive

My thanks to the lovely Peaches for reminding me that I've drawn the guys sitting in a right hand drive car (as we have here in the UK). I did think about this when I drew it but decided to stick with this version to keep the flow going from left to right.
While I'm on the subject we do drive on the correct side of the road over here. In the past a horseman would hold his sword in his right hand and pass his enemy on the left hand side. We drive on the left to this day.

Small World

This is one of my favorite strips to date. Not only do I like the joke but I loved doing the artwork (who doesn't like drawing rockets?... I sound like I'm about 6 years old). The coloring was great fun as I really enjoying creating these night scenes. It's comics like these that remind me I have one of the best jobs in the world!

Here's the page of my sketch book where you can see how this comic came about.

Can you help?

Regulars to this blog will know I was involved in a plane crash when I was 18. Our EgyptAir Boeing 737 crashed on landing at Luxor Airport in 1982 causing the plane to spin off the end of the runway and catch fire. I was sat by the emergency exit so pulled the door off, shouted "Get out here!" and sprinted barefoot down the wing into the hot desert sand. If anyone out there was involved in this accident can they please get in touch as I can find very little information online and am beginning to think I dreamt the whole thing.

It was late August or early September 1982 (I think... maybe 1981). We were flying from Aswan in the South of Egypt to Luxor. There were about 40 of us on board, some Italians if I remember and a number of Japanese tourists. I remember them especially as they stood at the bottom of the emergency chutes taking photos while the engines burnt furiously under the plane! I got no photos as I left my bag on board in my haste to escape. It was the right thing to do but I really wish I had a photo to show people.
